$#!+_@$$
12:08 AM PST :: comments: 0I'm finding that I'm cursing a lot more nowadays. Not at anything in particular--just at existence in general. And not around other people--just when I'm by myself. But the pain and exhaustion and shadows and rebounds make me want to curse. So I do.

How do I go about ordering a replacement head?
12:01 AM PST :: comments: 0Four weeks into this cluster of headaches, and it doesn't seem to be letting up. Ugh. I know that this is average for many people who suffer from cluster headaches, but usually I only have to suffer for two weeks. I am in no way happy about becoming more "normal" in this respect.
The pain is not so much the issue anymore as much as the exhaustion. I can't get anything done and I'm having a very hard time holding things together.

I told you so...
04:13 PM PST :: comments: 0I did say that pre-emptive war was a bad idea, didn't I? Here's just one reason why.

I just want to cry
04:09 PM PST :: comments: 0The looting of the National Museum of Iraq and the burning of the National Library and Archives and the Library of Korans at the Ministry of Religious Endowment just makes me feel sick.
(The comment thread on the looting post is the only comment thread over 200 posts long that I've thought was worth reading from beginning to end.)

Welcome Cece
10:32 AM PST :: comments: 0My friend Cece wanted to try out this whole "blog" thing, so I've set her up with an account on my blog so that she can give it a try. Welcome Cece. And to everyone else, welcome to (what is now) a two person blog.

Psychic Pharmacology Professor
01:14 AM PST :: comments: 1In college, I took a class on pharmacology. The prof gave us a classic illustration of why patients don't always follow their doctor's instructions. He said,
Its not usually a matter of the instructions being too hard, or too expensive, or too difficult to understand. Ususally the patients just forget or can't be bothered to do it. For example, say I told you to drink a glass of water every hour on the hour whenever you are awake for two weeks and that this was vital to your health. Do you think that you would make it two weeks? Don't be surprised when your patients forget to take their pills either. My prof has just explained (7 years in advance) why I am not continuing on with "water water water".

I guess I spoke too soon...
12:56 AM PST :: comments: 0So much for this bout of cluster headaches being over. I got one this morning, and two rebounds (one in the afternoon. and one about an hour ago). My patience is wearing thin. I am emotionally exhausted. It takes an incredible effort to even be pleasant to the people I love. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
