Browser rundown
01:43 AM PST :: comments: 0So here is the rundown on how my site looks in various browsers:
- Opera 6: Perfect. Plus a little extra eye candy due to a CSS bug that I'm exploiting.
- Netscape 6/7: Perfect.
- Opera 5: Near Perfect. Layout and fonts are perfect. However, no transparency or background picture due to imperfect CSS support.
- Internet Explorer 5/6: Good. The layout is a little messed up due to inferior CSS support. And IE doesn't handle reletive font sizes in CSS correctly either, so various portions of text are too big. But text resizing in IE should work fine.
- Netscape 4: Passable. Netscape 4 just doesn't do CSS. My site is still readable in Netscape 4, it just ain't pretty.

Accessibility, XHTML, CSS
01:29 AM PST :: comments: 0Now that I can rebuild my site, I've added a raft of accessibility features. I've also restructured my site. It still looks pretty much the same, but the headings are being used correctly and my markup is cleaner. Plus, I've made my site fully XHTML compliant (validate my site) and I've fully separated presentation from content via CSS (validate my CSS).
Oh, and I fixed all of the Opera bugs too. (I did say that my procrastination skills are in top shape, right?)

I'm back up and running!
01:24 AM PST :: comments: 8I haven't posted in a while. I've been having trouble with Greymatter (the software which runs this blog). It wouldn't let me rebuild my site. It took me quite a while to figure out what the problem was and what the proper workaround was. (Greymatter was choking when trying to rebuild the monthly archive lists, so I switched to weekly archives.) As a result of my difficulties: no posts.
