Molasses in the Blogosphere

12:42 PM PST :: comments: 2

The whole blogging world seems to have slowed down production recently. Almost every site that I visit on a regular basis has cut its update freqeuncy by at least half, if not much more. My own site is no exception. I'm not complaining or trying to point fingers or anything. I'm certainly not trying to single anyone out. I'm just making an observation here. It seems rather widespread. This doesn't just apply to personal blogs. Semi-professional blogs (see MicrocontentNews and JoelOnSoftware), and even large community blogs (see Kuro5hin) have slowed down too.

This has been going on for over a month now, and I'm wondering what up? Is it just the time of year? I'm in school, and that keeps me pretty busy, but not everybody is in school. Why has everyone not on a school schedule slowed down?

BugFix

Oops. My comments windows didn't have scrollbars. They should be fixed now.

I'll try to have some real content soon instead of stupid technical site updates.

Technical Difficulties

Greymatter seems to not like it when I rebuild all my files. My templates keep getting corrupted. If you notice the site getting screwed up over the next couple of days, that's probably just GM being unhappy again. Sorry.

Better Comments

With some effort, I've made my Greymatter comments pop-up like the MovableType ones do. And the people on the GM boards said it couldn't be done. Ha! It just took some CSS and javascript to coax the comments to do my bidding.

Now I just need to post comment-worthy entries. Sigh.

Faulty Election System

How do we go about changing the way we vote? Voting experts say that our current system is the worst possible one.

Don't forget to vote tomorrow!

50% + 1

Ahhhh. Done with midterms. Nothing but homework assignments, mini-papers, and sub-midterms until Finals Crush.

You know what I've noticed? Unlike my other classes, each additional week of Greek gets harder instead of easier. That, of course, is entirely what I expected.
