Bad Grades

06:10 PM PST :: comments: 1

I got my grades today. One of my profs gave me a B-. I am stunned and upset. Did I really do that badly on my final project? I have not gotten my final project back yet, so I don't know why I got such a low grade when I was expecting some sort of "A". I tried to set up an appointment with my professor, but he won't see anyone until next week. So now I have to stew in my impatience for a week 'till I can get some answers. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

I hate this feeling. I'm angry and impotent. I want to argue that I did everything right, but I don't even know what my prof thinks I've done wrong. I'm filled with doubt: did I do everything that the project required? Should I have argued from a more conventional postition? I hate not knowing anything. I hate not being able to do anything. Arrrrghh.

Poor Fishies

11:12 PM PST :: comments: 2

We came home to discover that all but one of our fish had died from the cold (we have no heater for the aqaurium yet and we idiotically turned the heat off when we left for a week). Our last remaining fish could barely move it was so cold. We have heated up the fish so it is no longer in danger of freezing any more. However, it is so weak that it can't eat. Obviously, we don't expect it to last very long. So sad. :(

Next week we will buy new fish. And a heater.

Back in Portland again

Back home again. Grandma-in-law and her boyfriend have come back with us and are staying with us for a few days. They are the greatest. Peppy (the boyfriend) has already helped us install some lights in our house and will do another tomorrow. Both of them have an unending supply of stories that amuse and flabergast. I like to just sit immersed in their life expereinces. I feel enriched just being in their presence.
